Integrations
Last updated: 25 October 2026
Integrations connect Qwirl to services you already use. For now these are YouTube and Twitch: while you're live, your QR codes can open your stream, and the rest of the time your recent videos can come up on scans.
Two places
- Integrations in the sidebar: the accounts connected to your Qwirl account. You connect each one once, here.
- Integrations on a QR code: which of those accounts that code uses, and how.
Connect YouTube
In Integrations, under Add a YouTube channel, paste the channel link (like youtube.com/@yourchannel) or its @handle and choose Connect YouTube.
Qwirl only reads public channel data: whether the channel is live, and its public videos. It doesn't need access to your Google account, so it can't confirm the channel is yours: YouTube channels show "Public channel data. Ownership isn't verified."
Connect Twitch
Under Add a Twitch account, choose Connect Twitch and sign in on Twitch. Qwirl asks for no permissions and stores no Twitch password or token. It only learns which account is yours, so the account shows as Verified owner.
Your connected accounts
Each account shows whether it's live right now, how many videos Qwirl has saved, and when it was last synced. Sync now refreshes it straight away; if a sync fails, the error is shown under the account.
You can connect up to 10 accounts.
Use them on a QR code
Open the QR code's Integrations page. Under Channels, tick each account this code should use, then choose for each one:
- Show the live stream while live: while that account is live, every scan opens the stream instead of an item. If several accounts are live, the first one in the list wins.
- Add recent videos to the random pool: the account's recent videos and clips count together as one entry in the random pool, with the Rarity and Weight you set next to it. When that entry comes up, one of the videos is shown.
Choose Save channels when you're done. When none of the accounts is live, scans work as usual.
If a video doesn't play
Under every video and live stream, visitors see Not playing? Watch on YouTube (or Twitch). Sometimes YouTube asks viewers to sign in before it plays an embedded video, mostly on VPNs, company networks or shared connections. The link opens the video on YouTube or Twitch itself, so they can still watch.
How fresh is it?
Qwirl checks live status every couple of minutes, and again when someone scans. Saving a QR code's channels also refreshes them.
Codes that are inactive, disabled or in review are not checked until they can be scanned again.
Disconnect
Disconnect removes the account from all your QR codes and deletes its saved videos from Qwirl. For Twitch, you can also remove Qwirl under Connections in your Twitch settings.
